Hamish McDonald, the legendary DJ for the proto-goth nightclub “The Batcave”, when asked what sort of music played, responded with the following:

“I play what I call a sweeping curve of sound, with Siouxsie and the Cramps as middle ground, taking in Sweet and the Specimen and stretching to Eddie Cochran and Death Cult”.

That quote encapsulates perfectly my own philosophy towards music. Omnivorous, eclectic, and longing for that perfect sweeping curve.

This blog will discuss and share music. Some of the “darker” musical genres will be touched on, and it will certainly explore my fascination with religious and metaphysical themes in music and popular culture.

My name is Jason, and this isn’t my first music blog. I used to maintain the Mp3/music blog “Swung By Seraphim”. I have been involved with music for a long time. I have hosted radio programs, DJ-ed at clubs, and done a bit of arts-related journalism. For several years I was a music columnist for the magazine “newWitch”. I now host a well-received music podcast and busy myself with other writing projects.
